THE EFFECT OF CADMIUM POLLUTION ON THE ENZYMATIC

ACTIVITY OF ORDINARY CHERNOZEM SOIL

*Email: novoselova58@mail.ru Cadmium belongs to the heavy metals category. Entering the soil, this metal accumulates in it and affects its biological properties. Under the action of cadmium changing the orientation of the biochemical processes in the soil due to changes in the activity of soil enzymes, playing a major role in transformation of organic matter and the creation of soil fertility. Therefore, the aim of our research was to study the effect of different concentrations of cadmium on the activity of soil redox enzymes. We have investigated in the laboratory the effects of cadmium at concentrations of 5, 10, 20, 40 mg/kg on the activity of redox enzymes of ordinary Chernozem soil: catalase, peroxidase, polyphenoloxidase by the methods described F .





X Hasievim (2005). The Samples were analyzed after 3, 90, 180, 360 days from the start of the experiment. It was found that cadmium exerts a selective effect on the studied enzymes, i.e., when the same concentration it inhibits the activity of some enzymes and stimulates the activity of the other. With increasing concentration of cadmium catalase activity, polyphenoloxidase decreased, peroxidase was increased. The high sensitivity of the studied enzymes to low concentrations of cadmium was shown .
